Foster Follies 2013

Foster Follies is Swamp Meadow’s annual spring fundraiser. This popular event features local talent including comedy skits, singing, and more.

This year’s talent includes:
Meryn Flynn, Mike Ryan, Millie Dubois, Emma Capron, Hannah Gibb, Taylor & Maddie Axtmann, Katie Lewis, Maia & Mike Grandy, LaDelle, Mary, & Preston Arnold, Samantha Baril, Amanda Gelinas, Nigel Richards, Gabrielle Dworkin, Michelle Chretien, Lena & Victoria Craig, Grace Bressner, Elijah Fontenault, Ray Cooke & Lisa Couto.

Come on out and join the fun on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 7 pm at the Foster Country Club.

Admission: adult/$15, student/senior/$10, family/$50 max.

Actors Needed for Foster Cemetery Tours

The Foster Preservation Society is having a Cemetery Tour of some of Foster’s historic Cemeteries on September 29, 2012 from 9 – 3. They have asked Swamp Meadow to come up with actors who would like to provide first person stories in the cemeteries… (half Scripted acting, half impromptu)

We are looking for 6 all day (6 hours) actors or 12 half day (3 hours) actors, a Director or two, some support staff and researchers for:

  • A Revolutionary War Patriot (or his widowed family)
  • The Woman who loved her Cadillac so much that she was buried in it!
  • Either a Civil War Vet or the Spirit of a Native American whose grave was disturbed and re-interred here
  • Someone from the 1800’s who can also tell the story of the Ram’s Tail Ghost
  • Roger Williams or a Relative of Roger Williams
  • 1920’s bootlegger or family member.

Foster Idol 2012 Winners

Our heartfelt thanks to all the contestants that were part of Foster Idol. (Also to set up and sound team Steve Carter, Kaila Rubin, Dennis Chretien, Eric Dubois, and Carol Mauro.) For three days, they entertained crowds of up to 250 people.

The Foster Idol at Old Home Days is ready for another entertaining weekend of great music and heartfelt presentations! Rockers, ballad singers, crooners, and hopeful pop icons will all compete for the honor of bearing the title of Foster Idol 2012!

This year’s competitors for the title of Foster Idol 2012 are:
Josh Casey, Michelle Chretien, Zach Farnum, Phil Hauser, Michael Paolucci, Justina Paolucci, Mai-La Yang, Choua Yang of Foster,  Emily Carter, Scott Jablonski of Scituate, Chrissy Wagner of Chepachet, and Joseph Kraus of Warwick.

Competing for Creative Memories Junior Idol are:
Lily Hearn of Foster, Grace Bressner, Julia Gurzenda of Scituate, Devlin Cook-Hines of Greene, Samantha Baril of Chepachet, Lucy Contrino, Juliana Goff of Glocester, and Amanda Gelinas of Warwick.

Admission is free ($5 admission to the Fair)
